Medical care for the family

However good individual practitioners within the National Health Service may be, there are always times when lack of resources can make it difficult for the state service to respond to an individual's needs at a time convenient to them - or indeed with the right level of individual skills.

For this reason, many people opt for private medical care when they need to know that they or their loved ones are receiving the best possible attention. Unfortunately this can be very expensive and while many hospitals can cater for deferred payments, having insurance can take the worry, and much of the cost, out of private medicine.

There are a wide variety of schemes available to suit most needs - and pockets - from all inclusive plans, to those offering cover only where the NHS cannot respond quickly enough. Different levels of excess (ie the amount you pay towards the treatment) can also reduce the cost of insurance, so there are plenty of choices available to you.
